Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

In the mid background are Williamsons Potteries. Beyond them is the railway bridge by Harringay Green Lanes Station, which still stands today.

If you'd like to learn more about the history of Harringay , see my article on Wikipedia providing an overview of the History of Harringay. The series box at the top of that page will take you to more detailed articles I've sketched out on periods in Harringay's history.

Quite unusual to see such a snapshot style from this period, I mean figures in the foreground not posing stiffly for the camera. Amazing!

This could have been a photo from the Potteries at the the turn of last century with the bottle neck kiln in the background. Few of these survive in Stoke, maybe fifteen.

Fresh air from the Potteries:

See also colespotteries.btinternet.co.uk for interesting history of the pottery kilns seen to right in Williamsons Rd here, and at Bruce Grove and the Souths and at Stoke Newington.
