Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Harringay Post Office, Green Lanes, circa 1905

Haven't been able to place this exactly yet - a sticky toffee for the first person...........

Remarkable how well dressed the windows above the post office are.

Is that a complaint or a hint with its location?

Nice pic - hand-coloured I guess, but it gives a warmer feel than the black/white images at this time.

I've seen a plaque like that in Turnpike Lane. I'll have a look tomorrow

Bottom of Mattison, Baldwins is out of frame to the left.

Many thanks John - sticky toffee winging its way to you (I'll have the geese drop it off on their way over to the reservoir). Now posted as a compliation. I'll ask Alistair to add it to "Then & Now"

The buildings on the right look a sort of 'reddish' colour even on the old photo..

But the gable ends are different back then.
