"The Colly" as it was known was one of the cheapest cinemas in the area and was the favourite haunt of my elder Brother who watched the cheap "Westerns" shown there over and over again.
In the late 1970s early 1980s it became well used again as the venue for the "Gay Disco" "Bolts".

Became a Bingo club in 1961 and later a Warehouse, after which it became "Bolts"

This picture makes the Coliseum looks a bit drab and featureless, and therefore its demolition perhaps not a great loss. However the early 1900s photo shows that it originally did justice to its position facing the Salisbury.

You're right Alistair, it did look very smart in the early 1900s...
By the way, an old gripe of mine.. On the 1983 photo, two St Ann's Road streetsigns can clearly be seen. The "old" Tottenham version attached to the building and the "new" Haringey version on the railings.. no difference and just a waste of money..
