Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Picture shows my Father who was the Foreman working at the back of the shop ordering, washing and packing the dried fruit for distribution to various outlets. It was also sold in drums in the store.

brings back memories   worked there as the shop boy/ delivery lad on a trade bike    Was ther for 2yrs when not at school   Remeber Alison road was not the best with a bike load of boxes but great coming back down    Their son Malcolm would have been about 25is when i was there both his parents worked ib shop  and , I think , so did his aunt   . When the shop closed at night it was my job to scrape the dried fruit off the floor tht had been spilt during the day then get the mop and bucet out and clean it     Also had to make sure the display of canned fruit outside ,under the windows , was kept full and tidy

Whereabouts in Green Lanes was this.  I lived at the bottom of Alison Road but cannot remember this.

Joyce has confirmed that it was at 495 (now part of Yasar Halim).
