"I had to walk down the hill from Wightman road (W5 terminated by the library) and the pavements were very slippery. I think the de-icing of all the pavements is essential but hasnt been prioritized."

Have to admit I never went in, but yes from the outside Wetherspoony. As I said in my last message, "Old Suffolk Punch" as far as I'm aware.

I'm not aware of there having been a pub on the Iceland site. The Mortimer Arms was where the Old Ale Emporium now is. I wonder if you're thinking of where Winkworth is now. That used to be  pub called The Old Suffolk Punch. You can just about make it out in the sixth of these shots.
