"definitely don't rely on sound-proofing plasterboard alone.  I have noisy neighbours, and had to specifically instruct my builders to attach that to battens on the wall, with glass-fibre insulation in the gap between - which works very…"

"Hi Mark, we've had to consider this every now and then as one of our children is a musician and practices a lot. It's not really a decorating issue, much more a structural one. If you want real sound-proofing you need to consider creating…"

"If you need someone to re-plaster a wall with soundproofed plasterboards, we can recommend a plasterer called Simon Lawrence. He's just done our master bedroom with insulation boards and I know he does soundproofing as well. His quotes are fair…"

Profile Information

I'm not a Harringay resident myself, but I live nearby, just over the border with Islington. I used to live in Haringey (Stroud Green) and ran most of the Liberal Democrat election campaigns in Haringey in 1998-2005 - net gains over that period +16 councillors and +1 MP :-) Your recycling box may well have seen some of my leaflets over the years...

Hi Mark, I replied to your comment in the wrong place. You said:
"When I have a moment I will fill out m profile more (though as my name is fairly unusual, it's pretty easy to see who I am - as long as you take the guess that I'm not a mid-west US fisherman!), though worth noting that my comments so far (a) haven't been party political, and (b) aren't with my work hat on."

I replied:
"I completely agree Mark. I wasn't making a criticism nor trying to score a point. I've found your comments on other websites - for example on the Baby Peter case - objective and genuinely helpful".

Glad to see you using this site, Mark. But shouldn't you be mentioning your prominent LibDem role in the profile?
