Hello,Now it's the school holidays and Easter my sense that it is quieter in the neighbourhood, with some people away. For the Food Bank we continue with our service as best as we can. Our numbers had gone down a bit as the New Year passed, but in the last few weeks we have now seen a definite increase in our numbers. We have had a steady core of volunteers with others who occasionally helped. We are now seeing that erode, so we need to be open to new people volunteering on a Saturday morning…See More
The Food Bank was busy over Christmas as we made use of the extra donations we often get at this time of year. So chocolates, cakes were plentiful. To these we had some nice toiletries as well as hats and gloves to give out. Thank you.We are now settling down into the New Year, though find demand still high. We continue with our basic non-perishable provision plus toiletry offer. Added to this is bread and fresh produce we receive from the…See More
Hello,It has been a long time since we have written here. We have been busy providing for those who come to us in need. Our numbers have risen since the summer with many new people and some of our older attenders not coming or less often. We have needed to watch our spending closely and reduce a bit what we are providing, though we are offering more choice. However, we have been strengthened by weekly deliveries of fresh provisions from Felix. We continue to receive some private donations which…See More
Hello,Many thanks for your continued donations. We have some stars in our community who deliver to us regularly. To you a big thank you. For those who wish to give us non perishable goods please do. We do prefer to have contact with our donors, so writing to us by…See More
Hello,It's been a whole since our last post. The meeting with donor's did not happen. It is not easy gathering people, though we can look at other ways of communicating. Also, we have been busy meeting demand of our visitors since. We regularly get 60 plus people a week representing over 200 people. With Haringey Support Fund money we have been able to provide a bit extra for our visitors, though that is at end now.We have started implementing Information and signposting services which helps to…See More
Hello and Happy New Year! The Gospel Centre Food Bank has been using Harringay Online to provide updates for the last few years. In order to provide for those in need we have benefitted greatly from local donations in kind and financially and have met many of you. Now we will be holding an event to talk about the Food Bank, to share about its impact and continuing need and plans as they are. Also, it is an opportunity for all to meet with us and for us to talk about how future involvement might…See More
Hello,I hope everyone is staying warm in this snowy weather. For our Food Bank visitors staying warm is likely to be a battle as many use key meters or are on variable tarrifs, though many have received rebates. We are aware of winter fuel and cold weather criteria, so hopefully we do get the chance to follow this up soon with our guests. Thanks so much to those who have given us financial donations this year and especially recently. They have helped us so much provide for those in need. We are…See More

Hello again,Now we know that the demand for the Gospel Centre Food Bank continues apace at well over 50 visitors a week with 200 beneficiaries. That is putting a strain on our resources, as we try to keep to our budget for spending. Thankfully, our donations of fresh food and bread help us provide more. Also, our volunteer levels have kept up including with our changed ways of operating now. It is though a constant battle with little time for truly taking stock together. We have been blessed by…See More
