Hi Alan, Hugh forwarded me your email, thank you very much!
I tried to figure out how to send you a private message, but couldn't. I was just after email addresses for the people you mentioned, so I can send off an email with all my gripes about the problem property.
Thank you!
Anette
Hi Alan, Hugh left me a message saying you'd been motivated by the article on bookies in the Guardian on Saturday to suggest a national campaign is needed to change the 2005 Act. I couldn't agree with you more. If you have any ideas as to how to go about it, please drop me a line.
Another apology for the further delay. Though meanhile, I've posted an open comment - under Hugh's latest posting - which will give you a brief idea of my views.
Rather than emails, you may like to give me a ring. 0208 376 4223.
Hi Alan,
I saw your comment on the LCSP page re. the Ladder and conversions. I can tell you more: It is classified as a restricted conversion area in the Haringgey Unitary development plan:
, supplementary planning guidance, residential standards.
This means no Ladder house can be legally converted. Planning applications will be turned down. But then again a lot of them use the 4 year rule and certificate of lawfulness and gets away with it. Which brings me on to this: I am very interested in this you put in a reply to Liz (same post): Have you looked into the issue of conversions for temporary housing? I ask because, as a councillor (for another ward) I come across homes which have been divided and subdivided. Landlords and Buy-to-Let owners know they have a lucrative sellers' market where many London Boroughs (not just Haringey) are happy to place homeless people here.
Would you mind explaining this a bit more? I am fighting a nuisance HMO near me, and need all the ammo I can get.
I have used a lot of the tips you gave me a few months ago, and I have made some headway, but not enough, so anything you can give me is much appreciated!
With my HMO, the council used it - not knowing it was an illegal conversion. Impressive if you ask me!
Alan, you left a message on Flickr of my photo of Tottenham High Road. I don't mind letting Bruce Castle use them, but how would that be arranged? Would it be done digitally or do you need the originals..?? Remember, I don't live in the UK.. I'll click on the contact button, then we can send private messages.. OK?
There is an HoLSG meeting in the Salisbury tonight which will still be going after your 7pm meeting if you'd feel like a drink and some eclectic company.
Thanks, John. Though I hope this is one invitation I won't be able to accept.
Cllr Harry Lister has called this evening's meeting for 7pm - which is thirty minutes before the start of the first part of the Labour Group AGM. Among other things the AGM elects the Chief Whip for the Municipal Year.
I've now posted Cllr Lister's latest email, with my reply, here on Flickr.
You'll see that despite my asking several times, I still haven't had Cllr Lister's list of my nine Flickr pages he objects to. Perhaps it's just photos taken in daylight and fresh air he finds so scary.
He insists that I won't "get sight of the report" until 7 pm this evening. Which is a bit late to start writing a rebuttal, calling witnesses etc. So I'm assuming that this evening Labour councillors - the vast majority of whom are a decent hardworking bunch of people - will recognise this is a flagrant breach of the principles of Natural Justice, and won't let Lister's showtrial go ahead.
When I have a moment I will fill out m profile more (though as my name is fairly unusual, it's pretty easy to see who I am - as long as you take the guess that I'm not a mid-west US fisherman!), though worth noting that my comments so far (a) haven't been party political, and (b) aren't with my work hat on.
Many thanks for your photo looks really nice - Its really good to get someone elses photos because they see the space at a different angle?

"The Ning email facility is very limited". Very limited? Not really. It's a messaging system, not intended as an email replacement and in that we hope it does quite well. It allows people to exchange private messages without requiring them to trade emails.
Alan, re CCTV car parking - i believe there was a small space opposite (which is all a Smart car needs). I was unconvinced by teh council response. it is my belief that the driver had gone to the shops as the passenger appeared embarrassed when i took my photos. haven't seen it there again though!

Alan, you would certainly have my vote if I lived in Tottenham Hale. Although as a member of the LibDems I might get into mild trouble with my party
