Local government authorities (and no doubt national ones) need more representatives who truly represent the people who elected them, rather than being in thrall to a party machine.
But then, I'm a Liberal Democrat, so just now I'm complicit in the dirty business of governing politics! I think though that there is a difference between compromise and incompetence.
Thanks for your help with my hoarder neighbour. I'm actually in Seven Sisters Ward - but even if there isn't a Seven Sisters councillor who deals with this type of problem, I'd be interested to get any type of gen from the other councillors.
Hi Alan - the £900,000 figure came from an article in the Ham n High when this issue was first flagged up. I have not seen it in the official council documentation but when the idea was first proposed a figure of somewhere between £600,000 and just over £1m was mentioned in that documentation. Certainly no-one form the council has come out and disputed that figure.
