Thanks to Pat Stuart for sharing the lyrics of the Harringay Racers song on another post:
"2-4-6-8, Who do we appreciate?
Who? The Harringay Racers.
2-4-6-8, Waiting at the starting gate.
Who? The Harringay Racers.
Come on chaps and turn on the taps
Take the right line all along the white line.
Who do we want to see, him and you and me?
Vic, Vic, Vic for victory!"
"Vic" was apparently a reference to team captain, Vic Duggan.
Does anyone know what the tune was?

Between returning from evacuation and getting married in 1961 I lived at 1a Wordsworth Parade, that is the ground floor flat next to Mountview Court.
Only yesterday, I was telling my son how there was never a quiet night in bed when I was young. My bedroom was at the front and though Wordsworth Parade was then a quiet cul-de-sac Green Lanes was always noisy.
Besides all the traffic there was the "Nellie Dean" etc when the Queen's Head opposite turned out but especially noisy once a week was "Two, Four , Six, Eight, Who do we appreciate, The Harringay Racers". Presumably this was from fans returning home but it has always seemed to me a long way to walk.
