A fascinating event for anyone interested in railway or local history. There has been a train station at Green Lanes for over 130 years and the line of which it is a part is even older still. The history of the origins and growth of the Barking to Gospel Oak line provides a fascinating insight into the development of north London.

  • Come and hear eminent railway historian and author, Jim Connor, talk about the history of the line and the stations along its route.
  • Learn about the now-closed stations and railway links in the area.
  • Includes a fascinating display of photographs, showing the stations as they were in earlier times and as they are now, as well as old maps of the Railway Fields site.
  • A chance to look over the modern Railway Fields and discover the original buffers in the midst of this beautiful conservation area.
