"Badminton's Wimbledon turns 100" - Harringay's part in the story

As the All England Open Badminton Championships begins today, it reaches its 100th year.

In 1947 Harringay Arena hosted the championships. It doesn't sound like her greatest moment. One writer recalls:

...the winter was ferocious and snow had deposited on the court through the ventilators. To make matters worse, the wooden courts were on top of a skating rink and the snow had frozen.
