Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The Barking to Gospel Oak line runs behind our house. We have caught brief glimpses of Pullman-style carriages going past and assumed there was a steam locomotive pulling, but the visibility is not good and we have never known in advance when one was coming.

Does anyone know if steam trains ever run on this line, and where would they be going to/from so we could look the schedule up in the timetables mentioned elsewhere on this forum?

Thanks.

I've seen steam trains on the Hackney end of this line and understood they were on their way to termini (most likely Victoria) from marshalling yards in the east (Stratford?) for their tourist specials.

Laurence, yes steam trains do make scheduled runs on the BtoGO line. If you look at the description on the front page of this steam train group, you'll see a link to previous forum discussions. The first two discussions listed are about trains on your line. Also the picture for this group is a stylised version of one taken by Gardens resident, Chris Laver, of a steam train making a scheduled run on that line.
