First outing of the year for 'Tornado', still in blue livery, and hauling a rake of carmine and cream liveried coaches for 'The White Rose' to York and return. Colourful!
Outline timings here, courtesy of the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust which built and operates 'Tornado' - there is much more elsewhere on their website about all of that.
The more detailed timings here show that the outward journey is on the slow line through Finsbury Park and Alexandra Palace, so the train will pass by Platform 2 at Harringay, rather than on the fast line that sits between the two platforms. A chance to get close to the action - but staying behind the yellow line.....

Note that while the Realtime trains schedule states that the train is a diesel hauled freight, this is because the actual train operator is DB Schenker and I don't think Network Rail's train planning computer has been told that there are such things as steam trains!
Also note that the ECS to "The Cross" is booked via Camden Road and the North London Incline but the return ECS reverses at Ferme Park between 23:16 and 23:43 before departing via the Harringay Park Curve to Wembley.
Thanks Glenn - yes, another contributor recently was dismayed that "it says it will be a diesel", until reassured.
Not sure I'll be up early or late enough for the positioning moves, but thank you anyway!
Gordon, thanks for the heads up. I was at Finsbury Park station in time this time this morning to capture "The White Rose" as it thundered north. Hopefully the photo is attached. I really am rubbish at this particular technological skill!
