Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

1) The Lincoln Christmas Express on Sat 4 Dec about 0900 will have a 1930s locomotive heading the train. No. 44871 (not a named engine) is a 'Black Five'. Why?
"The new locomotives when built left the railway works in the standard mixed traffic black livery which soon earned them the nickname "Black Fives" for which they are still affectionately referred to today." To distinguish them from 'Red Staniers' which were different express engines (we saw one here, 'Bahamas', back in October).

2) Sun 5 Dec about 1025, again to Lincoln, will have a 1940s locomotive hauling the train - 'Mayflower' in green. The train calls at Finsbury Park so it should be accelerating and working hard through Harringay on its way to Lincoln.

Beyond that - there is an excursion from Southend to Oxford on Thu 9th but it seems more likely to run via Highbury on the North London line (but if it doesn't...). And to round off the year, the maroon and imposing 'Duchess of Sutherland' on Sat 18th but at a crepuscular 0730.
