Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Bit of an odd one this, on Saturday.

Normally the locomotive and empty carriages leave the steam base at Southall for Kings Cross very early on the morning of the (Sunday) excursion. The route from Southall is partially blocked by engineering works this weekend so they will instead run from Southall to Welwyn Garden City at lunchtime on Saturday and remain at Welwyn overnight before running back to Kings Cross.

The route is Gospel Oak - Crouch Hill - Harringay Curve - Harringay platform 2 - Welwyn. I can't say whether the steam locomotive (a Black Five, 45212) will have a diesel engine in front of it (not so good for photographs). Live times here.

Then Sunday the excursion proper to Great Yarmouth - details here, times here.

Next steam: Saturday 14th June, very approximate time 0715. Another seaside trip, this one to Skegness hauled by Tornado - back from overhaul at last.
