And there was me, and most of Ireland, rejoicing that he'd passed on by 16:58, on the down line to Hell rather than Connacht.

Harringay station seems to be a favoured spot.

Does anyone know what happened? A number of people of a certain age with a number of grand-children waited at Alexandra Palace Station until about 10:30 and then disappointedly drifted away.

If you find out, Colin, do let me know! I was one of those at Ally Pally station from around nne o'clock and drifted away at half past ten to get on with the rest of the day. Among the snippets I gleaned was that the engine failed on its way from Southall and also that the excursion was starting at Finsbury Park, so all the Kings Cross passengers had to be transported to FP to join the train. All this was frustrated speculation. The bottom line is that we Cromwellians didn't see the engine or get the photos we wanted. Still, there will be more opportunities...but if you do hear what happened, please let me know.

OK? Cheers.

I was another that drifted....

Looks like it was just very late www.flickr.com/photos/lesbailey/7287092440/
