A bracing prospect given the expected time of 0745, though fair weather is forecast. Engine is the regular Black Five seen on the first run this year. An outing to York with the Railway Touring Company.
Next and final (fifth, only) steam of 2024: Thu 28 Nov about 0800 (retimed to 0725, well before sunrise) - a Steam Dreams outing to York hauled by 'Britannia', a British Railways-designed Pacific class, built in 1951. A class-mate was exhibited at the Festival of Britain that year. If Britannia has been to Harringay before I can find no record of it**. Its class-mate 'Oliver Cromwell' was seen some years ago.
There was to have been one more, on Sat 7 Dec about 0900 but that will now be diesel hauled. The planned steam engine is now needed to work the 'Polar Express' services from Euston to, well, the North Pole. In this case Willesden Sidings will be standing in for the cardinal point. Unfortunate, since 0900 is a more palatable time -> jeremyb ;-)
** Britannia passed through Harringay Green Lanes in 2012 - link here, with picture of engine. Thank you Glenn Wallis!

Great pic!
Interesting to note the signals still carry number plates with a 'K' prefix in spite of the 1976 King's Cross power signal box being closed at least a couple of years ago and control being transferred to the Railway Operating Centre at York.
It has also just occurred to me that those signal heads won't be there much longer either, as they still are of the individual coloured lamp variety which are now being widely replaced by the newer LED type.
