Cannot see much happening on our local lines just yet, much more activity in Summer! I can see though that A4 Bittern will possibly be on the Gospel Oak line on Sat 16 March on a run from Southend which will be a great sight to see! Check out The railway Touring Company and Steam Dreams for a full list of all tours in the UK as there are many tours starting from other London stations and not going through Harringay. Chris
Many thanks Chris. Will follow those leads up & try to be patient for the warmer months for yet another reason!

Ah super - thanks Gerry.
Again, sorry no, but come Easter time a trip to deepest darkest Essex might be an idea. The old Epping to Ongar tube line is being resurrected as http://eorailway.co.uk/ Check it out and maybe contact them beforehand to check that steam trains (not just diesel) are running.
I sent them an email as I will go sometime. This is the reply I got:
Good Afternoon Stephen,
I can confirm that the intention is for steam to run every weekend that the railway is operating .A diesel service will also run on the coopersale shuttle track reliability permitting.
I enclose a link to the website ( http://www.eorailway.co.uk/ ) from which you will see the gala weekends that are planned throughout the year - the railway press also carries news of visiting locomotives.
Trust this is of some assistance and that you enjoy your visit to our railway.

http://www.eorailway.co.uk/ Follow us on Facebook or Twitter "@eorailway"That's very interesting and I will pay them a visit, looks very spic and span! Also there is http://www.walthamstowpumphousemuseum.org.uk/ where there are steam loco's and transport items, I visited a couple of years ago and imagine that a lot will have progressed since then.
