Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

What flower is this?

Hello all, I moved into my new house in April and was pleased to see a bush producing delicately scented white flowers in May/June. The bush itself reminds me a bit of a rose bush.

Can anyone help to identify it please? I would like to know how and when to prune it. I had already lopped some branches off in the summer when some leaves started going white, but I wonder if it needs a hard prune back now or in the spring.

yes it is a rose but you prune it dependent on what type of rose. When you say a bush is it a low growing bush or one that is rambling up and over a fence? If it's a rambling rose you can prune it late autumn /winter. Here's a link http://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?pid=169

It looks a beautiful rose by the way. I love how the buds are a dusky pale pink.
