Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all,

Just over a year ago I set up a not for profit gardening group based at The Ladder Children's Centre N4 to give the children there some much needed environmental stimuli.

Things have been going really well and I have secured quite a bit of funding.

I'm looking for a new treasurer as my first one has recently moved from the area.

Any accountant type skilled people out there able to help produce a transparent set of accounts once or twice a year?

(The books are in excellent order!)

Cheers,

Nemone Mercer  ('The Ladder Garden Group' founder and co-ordinator)

Hi,
I might be interested in the role your offering I would like to hear more.
Im just finishing my accounting studies and have worked in finance for a number of years.
I hope this help.
Perhaps we could meet to discuss more?
David

Hiya,

Thanks for responding. Yes would love to meet.

Just to give you a little more info - I've raised around £16,000 in the last year the vast majority of that hasn't actually passed though the groups bank account as around £3,500 was handled by the council and just over £9,000 will be handled by the school the group works out of.

The rest was raised by a couple of smaller bids, fund raising events and local sponsorship which did pass through the groups independent bank account. It is a voluntary group so the previous treasurer was helping for free - don't know if this would be a useful credit to you to have? Though I may be able to squeeze a nominal fee out of the group's account to get the accounts for last year sorted.

I have had a little training in managing my books so I think they are in reasonable order.

Let me know if you'd still like to meet and if so we could meet at the The Children's Centre and I could show you what the money's achieved!

All the best,

Nemone.

That's great going Nemone!!
There's a strange glitch with this thread - I seem to be getting e-mail alerts from it about replies to 'my' discussion, when it clearly isn't mine. Not sure why.

If you can see stop following at the bottom of the page, it means somehow your profile has started following it. Just click stop following. If you can see that, let me know.

Yes, I can, although unfortunately I didn't have a chance to check before I posted a reply (which would have subscribed me anyway). Here's hoping that's the end of it now - will let you know if it continues. Thanks, Hugh (and sorry, other posters!)
