Can we help the Ladder Children's Centre little gardeners?

Hi all,
I am setting up a gardening group at the Ladder Children's centre on Pemberton Rd and am pretty much starting from scratch. I am after anything to get us going -namely gardening tools, seed trays and pots watering cans etc. Can pick up stuff. If possible please support so we can get all the little ones into gardening - many don't have a garden of their own. Thanks. Nemone.

A little background on the project via Nic
It's run by the Ladder Garden Group, Project co-ordinator Nemome Mercer
This group is of local parents with children attending the Ladder Children's Centre, entrance in Harringay passage between Pemberton and Mattison road, working voluntarily to develop the outside space for children and their families.
We have a series of 5 projects we plan to develop.
Project 1 - Jungle Garden
Project 2 - growing vegetables and herbs in raised beds.
Project 3 - a sensory planted play-boat.
Project 4 - a wild garden area
Project 5 - animal and plant murals
Nursery Garden Action Day: Saturday the 27th February 2010
The compost will be delivered for 9p.m. on Saturday the 27th February 2010.
We will be working from 9a.m. - 12p.m.
You are welcome to take children along. We will even provide tea, coffee
and biscuits.

I've got lots of pots and am sure I'll have a spare trowel or two. Will have a look around tomorrow.

I have an unloved garden if you're in need of spaces to use!
Also there was a post about guerilla gardening some of the public green spaces on / around the ladder. One such piece of land exists opposite the school on Stanley Road, although I'm not sure how you'd go about getting permission for this. -

You also mentioned something about teaching hopeless parents gardening skills. I'd be up for this. Were you thinking of a knowledge exchange scheme, where we could return the favour by offering help with another skill?

There's no such thing as hopeless gardening skills....!
No I was just thinking of meeting once a week at the centre - prob Friday mornings, to initially brain-storm ideas for what would be nice to achieve in the space and mostly how to raise some money quickly. So help will be needed with researching funds available and putting applications together. Once we have a garden 'plan' we can start sourcing plants and planting them and sowing seeds with the children. Can I count you in then??! If not available on Fridays can keep in the loop via email and arrange different day during the week some weeks for you to get your hand dirty!
Promise you will learn loads by summer next year!

Hello Nemone
I'm the Education Officer at Railway Fields and we've just just finished bulb planting in parks with local schools, nurseries, etc anyway I've some spare daffodil and crocus bulbs if you want some. Catherine -

That would be fantastic - any chance you could drop them at the centre today or tomorrow so we can get them in the ground before term finishes tomorrow morning??! I will be there at nine tomorrow or could leave them at reception.
