Just stumbled on an old post of Hugh's about the terrors of planting non-clumping bamboo in your garden. More info and pictures at:

Any other horror stories? In my infancy as a gardener I planted a eucalyptus once and then didn't really look after it - that was a pretty sight after 3 years (ie a mile high).
