Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Zadok the Priest and other Coronation anthems on the Ladder: Sing or Listen

The second of the 'Music on the Ladder' events at St. Paul's Church is 'Come and Sing Handel's Four Coronation Anthems' on 20 May 2012.

The Coronation Anthems are four anthems composed by George Frideric Handel using texts from the King James Bible, to be played at the coronation of the British monarch. In addition to
Zadok the Priest, they are
My Heart Is Inditing,
The King Shall Rejoice and
Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened.

Whether you like singing but are too busy to commit to a choir, you just love singing with like-minded people, or you just fancy hearing some uplifting music this event is worth making time for. St Paul's Harringay is a great space for this event and was was referred to by The Guardian's Simon Jenkins as "the dazzling St Paul's" .

Proceedings  start with rehearsals at 1pm, which will continue (interspersed with tea breaks!) throughout the afternoon. At 6pm there will be a performance of the Anthems.
Tickets for singers are £10 (music is provided), payable on the day, but you will need to book via the
church's website.

This time next week, we'll be just about starting our afternoon of rehearsals!  There's still time to sign up and sing if you haven't already!

Hi Folks!  Every great performance needs a great audience - so, if you're feeling like you need some musical refreshment on Sunday, come down to St Paul's Church on Wightman Road and listen to the performance of the Come and Sing Handel's Four Coronation Anthems.  It starts at 6pm, £5 on the door (with a free glass of wine).

We still have some spaces left for singers (particularly, but not exclusively, tenors and basses), so please let us know if you'd like to sing.

Just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who came and sang (or listened) yesterday.  I had a fantastic time, and I hope that everyone else did.  We're looking to do another come and sing event in the autumn - watch this space!
