Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Young Harringay film maker gets 'First Bite' of cherry in 24 hour challenge

Louise Cooke from Lausanne Road, Harringay, has just 24 hours to make her film called First Bite for the London Borough Film Challenge, before it will be shown at the Best of Boroughs awards next year.

Louise has been given the opportunity after winning £2,000 from Enfield and Haringey councils and Film London.

Louise will be among four north Londoners to take part in the challenge. The four finalists were whittled down from a field of 50.

Apart from the grant money, each film-maker will receive additional support including a support package of script developing, producing and film editing and preferential equipment hire rates.

Councillor Bambos Charalambous, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for young people, leisure, culture and Olympics, said: “It is surprising how successful short films can be. In just 10 minutes or so they can conjure up humorous tales, thought provoking ideas, dark stories or capture something that most of us may never have noticed.”

All film-makers taking part in the challenge must have their films ready by May 15 next year.
