Hi everyone,
Please join us for the fund-raising workshop on Saturday 5th of March 1-3 pm at my regular venue South Harringay Junior school.
The title of the workshop will be Yogic Action and will explore the fundamentals of the Vinyasa Krama Yoga (breath, alignment and dynamics) perfect for both those new to the practice and and practitioners who wish to consolidate the foundations practice.
The purpose of this standalone class is to raise both awareness and funds for MOAS, a charitable organisation working towards mitigating the loss of human lives in the Mediterranean Sea- the worlds most deadly migrant crossing.
We witness how escalating wars have resulted in masses of civilian displacement, leaving people without any option but to seek refuge across the Mediterranean, escaping violence and persecution from places such as Eritrea, Somalia and Syria. In 2015 alone, approximately 3500 refugees were recorded missing or drowned.
Organisations like MOAS deliver professional search and rescue services to those risking their lives in the Mediterranean region and post-rescue medical and social support to those they take on board. Since its inception in 2014 MOAS has saved over 8500 people.
I'm attaching MOAS's brochure so you can learnt more about their work: MOAS brochure
The workshop will run from 1-3 pm with all mats and props provided, suggested donation is £15 but you are welcome to donate more if you wish as the entire amount raised will go to the charity. For all you Yogis and Yoginis, this will be a doubly rewarding practice as its fruits will go towards a most honourable end.
Please book your place if you are planning to come along.
