Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Glitter and tinsel on your tree,
carol singing merrily
Santa's reindeer pull the sleigh
bringing gifts for those who pray.

Golden crackers in a row
right beneath the mistletoe
Christmas table green and gold
Bringing joy to young and old.

Mince pies and Xmas pud,
do you really think we should?
After all the wine and turkey
your stomach feels a little quirky.

Candles in the window glowing
whilst outside its softly snowing
Christmas comes just once a year
when the brightest star appears.

Silly Pomes Inc.

Could I have packed in any more Xmas cliches.......don't answer that... I had help too!

SB

'Bringing gifts for those who pray' ???

Don't angelic Ditchkins have a say

On who should hang their Chrissy socks

& unselfish jeans for Santa Dawks ?

Yeh I know, but couldn't think of a line to rhyme with sleigh..
Santa who? Jeans? Not too Xmassy Santa in jeans ... keep it traditional now .... or maybe not?

SB, you asked for cliches, angels, tradition, iambs. My added verse gave you all four.

In the spirit of Christmas I object to you denying Santa to atheists and secularists.

Now that Chris Hitchens has been raised to angelic status, why not celebrate a Chris'mas missa de angelis with all the trimmings?

And if his mate Dawkins must have selfish genes, why not hang them up with Chris's socks?

The Ditchkins delusion doesn't apply to Santa - no need to pray - just write a note he can read.

And a desperate search for a rhyme is  poor excuse for praying.

i most certainly DO NOT deny Santa to atheists and secularists and humanists and whatever.... as a non Christian I don't celebrate the Christian version of Xmas.

I was ocusing however on the traditional feast and glitter and holly and singing etc.. thanks for your EXCELLENT offering...but its all good fun tongue in cheek eh?Xmas is rather jolly isn't it?
