Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Songworks Community Choir N8 is going from strength to strength.
Our warm and friendly community is growing and we have a regular turnout of 20 to 25 people coming for a sing each week, a good quarter of whom are men.
We are open to new members and now is a good time to join as it is the start of the summer term. We meet Wednesdays 7.30 til 9pm Union Church Weston Park N8. costs £8 per week (£6 if on benefits/students). Term starts this wed 23rd April, though it is  a drop in choir so come when you can (tho regular attendance makes things much easier).
Singing in a community choir is good for our health on so many levels. It really does make you feel good. Our doors are open to anyone who wants to sing, regardless of whether you think you can sing or not. It may take you a while to get the hang of things but until you do there is safety in numbers. All voices blend in somehow and we sound great!  No one is ever asked to do a solo and there is no sheet music, everything is taught by ear. You are welcome to bring your children and teenagers along if they would like to come. We have  a good laugh as well as a sing and the emphasis is on the joy of singing rather than the perfect sound.
Don't just take my word for it, come along and try it for yourself.
If you have any questions email me singingdenise@gmail.com or phone me

Or just turn up this Wednesday 23rd April 7.30 til 9pm Union Church, Weston Park N8.
Really, really looking forward to a whole new term of singing.
Warmly
Denise

I took part in Sing Me a Song Dad through Sure Start,
great experience, singing has a great effect on your
well being, recommend it.

That sounds like a great project Matthew.

There's no such thing as a free lunch church. All churches these days make a charge - heating lighting etc. No religious songs so far.

You should come along Therese. Denise is a fun person and there are several hunky basses

She likes singing rounds so we could do Frere Jaques with you.

Thanks John!

Therese, Songworks hires the church hall but we don't sing traditional church songs. Last term we did a Slovakian Ballad, a Welsh Song, a gospel type song and a gaelic mouth music piece.

Regarding the charge...I offer concessions for those on benefits. Also, anyone who wants to come and cant afford the charge is welcome to come to some arrangement with me.

Your first session is free to see if it's for you.

Also, I will be doing some free pop up singing events at the Crouch End festival.

Watch this space!

Denise

I understand the deliberation Therese!

Hope to see you at the Songworks tomorrow evening Therese.

No more excuses !!

Denise - are we doing something for Crouch End Festival? I remember you mentioned it a few weeks ago... Would be great!!
