World Encephalitis Day

February 22nd this year is the first World Encephalitis Day and this seems a good place to mention it. Encephalitis was an illness I had myself in August 2003 and until then myself, my family or friends had never heard of it. It means 'Inflammation of the brain'. I became a Regional Representative for the Encephalitis Society about 1 year ago and one of my jobs, for a while, has been to spread info about this illness.

You had viral encephalitis? You have many after-affects? Poor memory's my worse.
