workshop space, share or light industrial unit wanted
HI
I am a curtain maker who has a workshop in The Chocolate Factory and is part of the collage Arts community. Unfortunately Worskspace have given us our notice in the C block building as they now want to renovate the building into offices and i guess eventually 'luxury apartments' :(
shockingly they have told us that we can stay till the end of Aug but with a 60% rent hike! I am now urgently looking for a new space to work from. Ideally i would like to share but it would have to be with another fabric worker or a very clean art or craft. If anyone has any ideas about where to rent affordable space or people to contact about it then i would be very grateful. I am totally prepared to travel if the price and space is right

There's potentially lots of space in Omega on Hermitage Road or in the units around Overbury Road.

I dont know these places do you have any more info on how i could find out? They dont seem to have a website which is annoying

spacedup.co.uk have a sign outside Omega advertising units and they also have at least one in the Flroentia Clothing Village. Florentia themselves may have spare units (clothingvillage.com).
The people at Limazulu and Omega Arts might be able to help, as perhaps might the InHouse festival people or Catwalk Place. Plus there's the New River Studios.

Maybe try Hackney Downs Studios or Netil House. My wife has a bridal studio at the latter.
