On 7th July, 45 years ago Britain's cities were hit with rioting. The "Soaraway Sun" published the following piece about a riot in Wood Green.

I suspect it's already possible. At least some of those photos from the riots would be of sufficient quality to capture the unique embeddings and vectors that could be put into a database which could flag faces that appear on modern streets in Brixton, Tottenham etc. Obviously the hit rate would be low (many would be dead now or moved away) but the odd suspects could be selected for further verification. It would be good to see them brought to justice but the police have their hands full dealing with the children and grandchildren of those rioters.
Remember seeing a TV news clip of a rioter/looter trying on a pair of looted trainers, found they didn't fit, threw them back and nicked another pair instead!
Funnily enough they never loot the book shops.
