Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Haringey in the trusted path of Wonga & The Student Loan Company are also engaged in the production of what is known in law as false instruments. Can anyone tell me if this is illegal or even criminal, as I suspect? I always thought it was illegal to impersonate a Policeman and equally illegal to pass yourself off a lawyer. So it is surely in bad taste, at the very least, for Haringey Council to train its staff in the black arts of dissimulation, for staff to be told when they go to work that their work for at least part of one day is to be transferred out of the Council offices, to the Magistrates Court, where local government officers are to ponce around pretending to be Magistrates. I have just written to Claire Kolber & to the Chief Executive explaining what happened to me on June 18th when I attended Tottenham Magistrates Court in connection with a purported summons for nonpayment of Council Tax. ( As I had informed the Council of a "change of circumstances" because my son had moved back into the house, in order for me to avoid the Bedroom Tax, their response - to cancel Council Tax benefit - meant consequently I could not pay the Council Tax!!) I went to Court because I had received a "summons" and genuinely expected to be heard by a Magistrate. This opportunity was not granted, as the Council official I met said she would make a Liability Order and what I regard  as a bogus order has since arrived. I always knew that Magistrates Courts were controlled by the Police - hence the name Police Courts, but did not realise the same situation applies to Haringey Council - so that (when I was there) the Court in Lordship Lane becomes merely an extension of the Council offices.

Is that the red letter that you get charged £140 for?  Then when you challenge it they cancel it and deduct the 'court fees'?

MET Parking have been doing this for years and nobody said anything because it was just "bluster". Perhaps they should have.

Hi William
Can you write to me at emine.ibrahim@haringey.gov.uk about this sending me some details and what exactly happened?
Emine

Today I handed in 2 letters @ Haringey Civic Centre re the abuse of process outlined above. But what I wrote about in that last post is merely illustrative of an endemic culture, of fraudulent deceit, affrontary, arrogance, and lack of respect for the law by Homes for Haringey who have made my life hell this last year, ever since my son & his wife moved back into the house. It was then I was given the worst possible advice by well meaning neighbours "you should tell the Council of any change in your circumstances." I did, & I wish I'd shut up. In any case there were no changes of circumstances for me, except that I had less space.  It was my son who'd had the change of circumstances. This disclosure provoked a cataclysm - & a real & very painful change of circumstances!! Prior to my son moving back in life was hunky dory. I had 100% housing benefit +100% council tax benefit, which suited me fine, but as soon as I told the Council of my altered situation,  these benefits stopped. The Council continue to send me preposterous bills, which I can't pay without means, so a committal to prison re unpaid Council Tax seems @ least possible.  Homes for Haringey  though have a wider agenda: this is more  than a case of the vindictive persecution of a 69 year old OAP: Its aim is to sieze this property, asset strip, get rid of Council tenants, on whatever pretext.  (Hope to post up copies of my letters to Claire Kober & to the Chief Executive tomorrow). Thanks for support. William Spring
