Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I am looking for a group of women to join me on a regular run.  Before having kids, I was pretty fit, and I'm desperate to get going again, but I really need help with the motivation!  I was hoping that a group of us could commit to a regular run of around 3 - 6 miles (for me, somewhere between 30 mins and an hour).   A usual run would be from Downhills park and a couple of times around Lordship Rec, or from Downhills area, onto the canal, up to the top of Springfield park, and back.  Hopefully, if there are 4 or 5 of us, there will always be at least two to meet and run together.

I'm interested, that sounds like a good idea, what days and times was you thinking?

Hi - Great!  Well - I'm not sure.  Saturday and Sunday mornings suit me, or early evenings.  I suppose once there are a few people interested we should find a time that suits us all.  I'll keep you posted.  Thanks for replying!

 

I'd love to do this as I too am lacking motivation (and also have bad memories of weird, pervy, heckly men when running alone, whatever time of day I picked!) but I probably wouldn't be able to manage that long a run as I haven't been running in months and would probably end up abandoning things after the second Lordship lap :D
Great!  I know exactly what you mean, there is definitely safety in numbers.  Well - let's see if we can get a few (I'm thinking 4 or 5) and then pick a time and see what works.  We can start with some really gentle runs, and work up.  I'm no expert though but at least we can give eachother moral support!

I'd be interested too but would like to warn you that I can hardly run the length of myself at the moment but I did do quite a bit pre kids
Brilliant!  We sound similar actually, and I'm sure we'd get it back quite quickly.  OK all - I'm away until Monday, but perhaps we could aim to meet up for a trial Lordship Rec run on Saturday 14th?  About 10am?
I'm interested too - I'm on the edge of N15 and similarly out-of-practice, but was running 3-6 miles quite regularly a couple of years ago. Company is definitely the key motivator!

I'm away until Monday, but can do any evening in the week - from about 8 - so that might be too late.  Or the morning on Saturday 14th.

 

How about - Sat 14th - 9:30am, meet at the Philip Lane entrance to Downhills Park and see how we go?

May be interested - I am unfit enough I may slow everyone down though, should warn you! Will follow this thread and pop along if feeling brave :)

Abi - don't worry - I am too, I suspect you won't!

 

Hazel - will have to confirm but I have a feeling I'm going to be away on 14th, unfortunately :(
