In 1935 the French art deco poster artist Adolphe Mouron Cassandre (1901-1961) created this striking image for an unknown beverage company. The image was not accepted. In 1984 Willi’s Wine Bar in Paris purchased the image from Cassandre’s Estate and used it for the first of their annual posters.
