Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

....Or is this just wishful thinking? From what I recall the Hanoi Pho by the Salisbury has not opened due to some planning issues. I also vaguely remember comments about how they needed a gas supply, but I might be wrong. The attached photo I just took of digging work being undertaken on the pavements going into the front restaurant, may or may not be gas installation works. If that is the case, I'm speculating that planning permission has been granted. Would love to hear from anyone who has more solid information, because I just loooove Vietnamese food (and of course for taking an interest for more food diversity for the rest of our community).

Loks promising to me. (Whilst I do spare a thought for those living above who may not be welcoming the restaurant's arrival).

I saw the owners a few weeks back parked outside in a Range Rover, I asked them if there was any updates and they explained that services needed to be put inside the restaurant and they explained that national grid can take up to 3 months to do this! owners are really nice

Thank god it wasn't a mondeo.

So I just clicked on that link and sadly (sorry residents above, but lots of us really want a Vietnamese restaurant) it says that planning permission was refused on May 27th. So I'm confused.

The application was for "Retrospective application for Installation of extractor flue ducting"

Nothing against Vietnamese restaurants!

Just don't want everyone (6 flats/12 bedrooms) to have an extraction unit right outside their bedroom windows; this is the only source of fresh air & daylight for these rooms.

And the noise of a kitchen into the light well midday to 11pm (and the outdoor customers toilet) isn't great for my sleeping children, or anyone else for that matter.

It's an unusual shop configuration and lightwell; if you saw it you'd understand the problem immediately!

I really hope this issue can be sorted out as so many local folk want this restaurant to open
