Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We have a young black male cat in our garden. been there since soon before Xmas. Very shy at first. We have been feeding it and made a nice cashmere lined bed in the arbour. It cant live with us because we have dogs and cats and they wont like it. It is now keen to make friends and needs a good home. Any takers?

Thanks. I'll try that.

Hello Kieran,

The lost fluffy black cat is my cat. He has a brown tinge to him too. Are you sure it's not the same cat?

Many thanks,

Kate

Don't know Kate. Mittens isn't fluffy, but I suppose he could have grown out of that. We took him to Wood Green Animal Shelter at Heydon yesterday. They said they would put his picture up on their website for a week. Might be worth giving them a call.

Hi Kate

Just wondering if you managed to find out if the cat was yours?

Hope you have been reunited!

Yes. I've been thinking about this too...please do update us

agh - sorry for the suspense. I don't think this is my cat. My cat is very fluffy. he's not a bit fluffy, he's a lot fluffy.

my Crouch End bad boy left home when I went away for 3 days over Christmas. I'd got a cat sitter but he hates strangers. He was feral when we got him and not remotely domesticated. Feral really does mean feral! He's lovely these days but temperamental.

I've looked all over for him, leafleted, advertised etc and finally got news of him this week. I left a poster at the RSPCA shop - they must have lost it for a few weeks because it wasn't there for ages (I saw it today) and a lady saw it earlier this week. She's been feeding him since Christmas. She's taken a few pictures of him and it's definitely him. It sounds bonkers but if you're a cat owner and lover, you know your own cat's face and mannerisms. He's on Heathville Road. We found his collar on the disused railway and you can see the path down from the old railway to this lady's garden.

the lady went away on holiday for a fortnight the day after seeing the poster so we're a bit stuck. We go every night but we haven't managed to catch him. We can't access her garden for another two weeks. fingers crossed we will catch him before then.

Kate, that's brilliant! He'll probably hang around, there's food there. Do you think he'd want to find his way home again? If so, you could try making a trail for him with something like the contents of your Hoover bag. It will smell familiar. Also, try leaving food near his lady's garden to make sure he sticks around. Might be worth borrowing a trap. That helped me getting my really nervous boy back. I got one from cats protection in Archway, and they're really easy to operate, and won't harm the cat. Good luck!!!!

Hi Kate,

I am so pleased for you that you've located him.  Made my day to hear you've located his whereabouts! Everything crossed that he's home safe with you very soon.

Lucy x

so was the at microchipped?  Did you manage to get it scanned?

Don't know. No. They would do that at Heydon.
