Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Coming out of white hart lane station heading towards the high road is a much more pleasant experience now. The slab work is "tight" that with the big chunks of raw stone mixed in. The flowers look nice.   Number 7 white hart lane (where the founder of THFC lived) is looking proud.   "TOTTENHAM the new stokey" errm. Not sure about that one. Yes new money is moving in but I strongly believe TOTTENHAM will retain her characters I mean character. Both even. 100.000 people roughly live in totts and very few want to leave. I live on the broad water farm estate (wonderful community) 1300 flats housing roughly 4000 people.  its as close as the brexit vote as in knock it down or not.  If they do knock it down most want to return or at least remain in totts.   TOTTENHAM no where else in the borough.     They'll have to take me out of here in a box.

Hi there, nice to read your post. I too hope that Tottenham retains it's Tottenham-ness.
But I'm surprised to hear that they are thinking about knocking down Broad Water Farm - I grew up there! Debden. Even though it's a concrete jungle, so many places for a young boy to climb, hide, muck around and if I was found doing something too naughty, then my Mum would get to know about it. At that time, most people would know who you were and who your Mum was! And the park! Wow, they still have the bicycle park. And the famous Moey.

How long have you lived there?

Long enough to have felt her pain!         Want a safe place to live? Move onto the farm.   No crime on here mate. :-)

Used to jump the moey. King jump? Never! :-)

They're taking it down block by block.  10 years No more farm.   council tenants wont be forced out TRUST ME.  we going no where  WE ARE TOTTENHAM.  Such a great earner for the council the farm is. But they want more.  Probably get 3000 flats on this site
