A conference for Haringey’s Voluntary & Community Sector organisations to engage in discussions on the impact of government’s spending cuts and the opportunities and challenges of the Big Society agenda.
This conference is a prime opportunity for the sector to examine further the impact of the austerity measures and the potential opportunities available to organisations. There will be presentations and workshops, as well as the opportunity to engage in discussions with lead individuals from the Voluntary Sector.
Who is this event for?
Ø Leaders and Trustees, and any staff/volunteers of Haringey’s Voluntary and Community Sector organisations who are involved in strategic developments.
Ø There are also places for statutory stakeholders e.g. Councillors and commissioning staff who play key roles in shaping the borough’s policies.
What are the objectives?
Ø Inform the VCS of the implications of changes to funding, commissioning, programme delivery, policy and local strategy.
Ø Examine the implications, challenges and opportunities that the spending cuts present for the VCS.
Ø Outline the Big Society agenda.
Ø Find a way forward, proposing sector priorities for 2011 (and beyond) in respect of the new political and financial environment.
