We have continued to be busy over the summer at your local food bank. Our numbers were staying steady at 40 per week, though after dipping two weeks ago they have gone up to 46 in this past week. Obtaining food remains a challenge, though we have a range of places including our requests here. Currently, we have need of standard packets of cereal, biscuits, tinned fruit, bags of sugar, cooking oil, and for toothpaste. We can receive these when the food bank is open for our visitors as well as when the church office is open from 9.30-2pm Monday - Thursday and 9.30-12 on a Friday @ The Gospel Centre N8 0LT.
During August we had 28 visitors who were new to our food bank with half coming from N8 and half again coming from N8 0, which is within a walk of the church. Just over 40% of all of our clients since the start of July have been from N8 0. We remain in touch with the Council's Connected Communities and are seeking ways of signposting people for other types of support, which are slowly starting up again in this still COVID-19 time.
