Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Looking very low and scruffy at the moment. Is it just low rainfall or is there something going on? I'm told the section of the NRP between Seven Sisters Road and the reservoir is chained off too. While we're on the topic, some repairs are desperately needed to the banks in the Finsbury Park section too I think - maybe the levels are being taken down to let that happen?

If you check out the tags I've added under your post, you'll find a number of posts over the years about the fluctuating level in the river (and there are probably others that haven't been tagged).

If you look at the dates of the posts tagged "new river water level", you can see that low levels seem to be common during this part of the summer.

The river is actively managed by Thames Waer and is still an integral part of London's water supply. The changing level seems to be a feature of how the river is managed and I think we'll continue to see it as a part of Harringay life.

We've hardly had any rain for ages. I've been trying to fill my new small pond up with rain water using ten buckets all month. The tiny pond is still just half full.

(Annoyingly I just missed that last downpour)

I expect we'll get a hose pipe ban this year.
