Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anyone know whether there is a traditional Harringay front door? With so many different styles of homes on the Ladder, and many of their doors being replaced, I'm having difficulty deciding on a style for my new front door. Would Maggie's have been common to the area (3 small panels at the top two larger ones at the bottom) or were the two long panelled doors equally as common?

Also, can anyone advise me of their experiences in locating a reclaimed door similar to Maggie's and having it fitted or was it difficult (and likely very expensive) to source one and perhaps ended up going to a joiner to have one made? Could anyone recommend a joiner for this task? Many thanks

Yes Maggie's door is typical original for the mid Ladder houses. I suspect the earlier houses at either end may have been different.
Thanks Hugh. We are at the top on Falkland Road if that helps.

From what I've seen on Falkland, I suspect it would have been pretty similar. As wonderful as Maggie's door and other like it are,  they are pretty standard late Victorian doors and coloured glass, produced for the 'aspiring' house buyer. If it's not longer in situ, if it were me I wouldn't feel obligated to replicate it.

If you fancy replacing an original feature with another contemporary to the house, you could always upgrade to the next level up, there are some roads the Warner Estate (off Priory Road) where some beautiful stained glass has survived in many of the houses. Warner Road is a good example.

Alternatively, if I had the money going spare, I'd think about commissioning add some more contemporary stained glass.
