Taking the lead from Liza, I'd really like to hear from the Seven Sisters Ward candidates. The fliers through my mailbox have not been particularly enlightening. Given all the discussion on HOL about the future of the warehouse district, Hermitage Road barriers etc, I'd like to hear directly from the local candidates what their plans and proposed policies are for Seven Sisters ward.

Hi Justin,
No need for cheap comments, Sharon is someone I met during the election campaign. Also its wort mentioning that I was probably the only candidate to have stalls set up in different parts of the ward. As well having stalls at Tiverton Estates, Chisley road Estates, Seven Sisters station, Manor House Warehouse, I also tried to speak to parents at the local primary schools such as Tiverton, Crowland and Stamford hill, as well as attending the May Fest at the Markfield Park.
Cheap comments- where? What do you mean by that? I have campaigned across the ward. And I attended Crowland Infants' school. My mother worked at Stamford Hill primary School. Your point is? Seven Sisters Station sits in Tottenham Green Ward and there's no such place as the "Chisley Road Estate" - I assume you mean Sir Fred Messr?
Noo-we're at cross wires.
I have tried to return their questionnaire but I can seem to find an email address. I would ask people to put aside party political differences, and ask themselves, "what can best represent us on Haringey Council?". Seven Sisters is served by two New Labour mannanical robots in Goldberg and Kober (both of whom reside in Muswell Hill). The third Labour councillor keeps a low profile, to say the least. I am many things - nodding dog I ain't! I would be an independent-minded councillor and rebel. It is the rebel in me that makes me support the warehouse residents. Kick them out- why? To build luxury flats which nobody, least of all young people, can afford to buy? The Council should see them as potential partners (ditto the Ward's Corner Coalition people). Justin Hinchcliffe - local Conservative candidate for Seven Sisters.
I'll be switching. I just can't justify voting for people who don't live here. Also, the current incumbents' angle on the warehouse community really is ill-informed at best.
Nuff said, really.
I am supportive of the warehouse residents--have returned their questionnaire
You don't have to live in an area to understand its problems but it's probably very difficult to do so when you live in Muswell Hill and go to parties with your neighbours there but represent Seven Sisters.
Hi john,
I know we had a brief chat about the warehouse. I also read the council report on the warehouse and plans they have for 'regeneration' - which sounds scary!! I have done couple of things with them such as, leafleting all of the area, filled in a questionnaire sent by the representatives from the Warehouse. Also over the last couple of days I've been visiting them and speaking to them face to face, most of them were quite impressed what we had to say and decided to put TUSC posters up on their windows. One thing I know for sure is, whatever happens on Thursday I will be involved with Warehouse project, I actually think council must do in making this area part of the community. I will raise it in all meeting I will attend as I am worried not many people are aware of the positive things happening there.
