Is the second photo recent? Gardenias usually flower in the summer and are indoor plants are'nt they? From the leaves In the background I think the red flower is camelia which are definitely in flower at the moment.

Thanks all I think skimmia and wall flower are what they were. Read about them on the internet and they both smell nice. I used to look at skimmia in the shop and think they look crap but now I know its all about their amazing smell! Thanks for the help.
