West Green Learning Centre - New Courses

Good golly, Miss Molly, you never really do get to know an area. I think I'd had a vague awareness of the WGLC but it never really registered for some reason. Any road up, below is a round-robin that came in earlier today from the Centre's manager with links to their 2009 prospectus:

Enrolment for January courses
West Green Learning Centre enrols for new courses in early January and is open to all the community. Most classes take place in the evening but some are during the day. It’s a friendly place for local people to learn a new skill or to develop their interests.

We have lots of short courses including languages, exercise classes, computer courses or literacy. Maths and English courses are free to all adults in the local community. Residents who receive benefits may not have to pay for some courses.

A pdf version of our new prospectus, Learning For The Community, can be found on our website. This gives full details of the courses, costs and how to enrol.

Enrolment takes place from 9am to 8.30pm on January 5, 6, 7 and 8, when tutors from the College of North East London (CONEL) and the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) will be there to give advice and guidance to help you choose courses. The second week of enrolment is on January 12, 13, 14 and 15, also from 9am to 8.30pm.

West Green Learning Centre also offers high quality facilities at a very reasonable cost to local organisations, including a fully equipped Lecture Theatre, which is regularly used for film evenings. The Centre has two ICT suites and a number of meeting rooms - local groups and charities get discounted hire rates.
