Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I went to Wards Corner (indoor market?) in Tottenham today cause I've been meaning to go to the Latin American shops and cafés around there for a while now.

It's like another world there, where everyone spoke to me in either Spanish or Brasilian Portuguese, very good to polish up my language skills.
There are a few cafés, hair dressers, a Sai Baba temple (!), a butcher and supermarket. It's not huge.

You can have lunch there in one of the Colombian cafés. Apparently Pueblito Paisa is popular for it's great and huge breakfasts, though I only had an empanada.

If you like cooking, like me, you can get very excited and buy loads in the small supermarket. They stock lots of different beans, hot sauces, drinks etc.

I spent my childhood in South America, in Suriname and Brasil, so it was amazing to find all these ingredients to cook with, not so far from where I live.

.....and you've only visited for the first time today?? Really??

Here's a short blog I added on Seven Sisters a few years back.

It's a secret.  From the High Road, you just see the row of shops, that you have to go through to find the market. You only notice the tucked-away sign that says Seven Sisters Market if you happen to look up and through the trees.

One of the changes brought in the Community Plan will be to have a very visible entrance, and also once the corner building is re-opened it will be obvious that there's all sorts of goodies inside.

Saturday is always my favourite day as it's when families come from all over and let their kids loose. Try that in Wood Green.

I'm just teasing South American Foodie Jessica, Pam.
