The Stamford Hill end could have a hyde area. It is naturally becoming the wildlife area with the bee hives, orchard, earth building and ponds.

it's normally spelt 'hide', for obvious reasons, but otherwise i'm with you on that

Yes i think Woodberry Wetlands is struggling to have a real nature reserve atmosphere, many people just use it essentially as a park, but still it's better than nothing

to photograph the jekylls, I suppose.

I'm a runner not a jogger, but where does it say joggers are banned? I mean, the word "jogger" ought to be banned but they even have a picture of a man running on the website.

I've signed up for the Cotswold Way Challenge and I'm always on the look out for trails accessible from my home in South Tottenham. This will be great.

I actually was really stretching to figure out "hyde". Now I get it--a "blind" in hunter speak.

Very cool. Sometimes I feel I should have moved to somewhere more adjacent to the marshlands than Harringay (which thankfully is still fine by bicycle) and this brings back that sentiment again.

Anyone else in favour of finding Knavel a permanent hide in the marshlands ?

Well, it is in fact already (and has for years been) open to the public; you just have to pay a pound for access to the whole site. The new opening will likely encourage more people to visit and that (and especially allowing cycling on the main path through the site) will not encourage wildlife to visit, still less stick around. Nor will LBWF's decision (despite scores of objections) to put a bar in the visitor's centre with weddings and amplified music till late at night...

hmmm, ok, had a vague awareness some of it was visitable before but got the impression it wasn't very easy

agree about the cycling and the bar idea is disappointing (funny how they don't talk about that under 'venue hire'...)

hopefully they've assessed the overall ability of the site to still be attractive to wildlife, but if they're making too many compromises that means people won't really see what a nature reserve is supposed to be about
