Three local bakeries are among the 35 bakeries shortlisted entrants in the running for be cited "London's Best Bakery" for the BBC's Bakes and Cakes Show.
I have a real soft spot for Dunn's personally and love their no holds barred traditional 20th Century British fare. Boulangerie Bon Matin in Stroud Green and Flourish from Tottenham are also in the running.

I think I need to find me some Flourish bread. The website says that Budgens is a stockist but I don't remember seeing it there. How sad they don't have a proper outlet in the locality. Dunns cakes are great when you have a yen for the old-fashioned British bakery thing. Their bread is not something to be proud of.

There's been discussion for some time about Flourish Bakery trying out a third extra - new - stall in the tiny Holcombe Road Market. (Near the Santander branch in mid-Tottenham.
Unfortunately, this project has been going at snail's pace. But I'm still optimistic that it'll eventually happen.

Disgraceful! Asking people to vote for a business in a far away borough of whose kneaders and bakers, baps and buns we know nothing.
I'm a Dunn's fan; their custard tarts and fruit bread are the best and they have such a wide choice for children
Perhaps a Hoppa shuttle bus service is needed linking up all these islands of deliciousness?
