hi all does anybody know if you can buy visitors parking in person at the council?
im moving house this weekend and completely forgot to order them online in advanced.
frustratingly they seem to have removed all contact numbers from the website so I’m waiting for somebody to reply to my enquiry form, likely in a few weeks time..

You can. They have a customer service centre in Wood Green Library.
It’s variable in WG. The last time I was there, the wait was quite short.
They’re supposed to be working on a paperless system which would make everything simpler.
Well, they obviously have the ability to do this using their online parking system - when I pay on the phone for parking I obviously don't display a ticket.
So enforcement officers across the country clearly have access to a database of online payments, else you'd have heard drivers bleating about being fined when they've paid on the phone.
So why not roll this out more widely to permits?
(My guess is that it's probably slightly easier to review a piece of paper in a window than interrogate a system on what might be unreliable tech. Classic solution looking for a problem.)
Fair enough Peter - I hadn't seen that.
That document is an interesting read. A good commitment to those requiring extra support, and I'm quite impressed by the proposition.
Seems like they're rolling a load of parking services into the new system. I'd be intrigued to know who Supplier D is...
Thanks for the link, Peter. It's good to see confirmation of my hearsay report.
With regards specifically to visitor permits, the report you link to has the following:
The improvements made to visitor parking will see existing visitor permits phased out and replaced with virtual parking sessions.
The transition to virtual permits will prevent the use of fake permits and address the issue of the sale and transfer of visitor parking permits.
I've been twice recently and waited under an hour.
I've gone at around 2pm but is probably a bit hit and miss
