Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,
As you all will know Virign Broadband is down since yesterday lunchtime? (Sunday). Apparently it will be back on at the latest Monday tonight!!
I am at work sending this. Please ask for compensation: the amount is tiny, but expensive to administer. This is the only way to have influence!

Best Adrian.

Must be quite localised, Adrian, I'm in Hewitt & everything's been ok here up till now. Though you're making me nervous........
I'm in Cavendish and it's fine, but I had a similar experience a fortnight ago - went down at lunchtime on Sunday, and didn't come back up until Monday morning.
I'm in Hampden Road and my broadband has been down since around 5pm on Saturday. I can understand why it may happen; what I can't understand is why the Virgin Broadband status page says it's OK when it isn't.
Yes I'm in Allison Road, N8.
We are in Effingham and has been down since Sunday.
We're on Effingham and were told by Virgin last night on the phone that broadband service in the N8 area would be down until 9am on Thursday (4th November) because of a fault. They said money would be taken off our bill for the days without service, but that hardly compensates the inconvenience.
But it's working in Falkland Rd so Virgin saying 'service in the N8 area would be down until 9am on Thursday' seems to imply the operative you spoke to doesn't have the detail on the problem you're experiencing.
To be honest I'm not massively surprised they don't actually know what the problem is - we called on Sunday night, were talked through all possible issues (unplug this, reset that) for about 30 mins, only for the chap to realise that there was maintenance activity in the area so there wasn't actually anything wrong with our machine. Then we call back Monday night to be told all of N8 is out until Thursday...they obviously don't have a clue what they're doing.
Hmm, seemed to be working fine last night and Sunday in Beresford.

I hope it's ok tomorrow because I have to work from home or else try to get to Brixton by foot/bus.
Hi, from a fellow Beresford resident. Mine was down Sat night (so was catch up TV, I assume the two were connected) but back by Sunday.
My boiler broke Sat too (back on now) so it was a lovely relaxing Saturday night.
I was forced to listen to the radio in, like, real time. I realised how I hardly ever do this now.
It's nice to have the excuse not to use it, sometimes...
I am thinking of setting up a Facebook group entitled "Hands up if you think Virgin Media is rubbish". Currently we have no telephone. Today an engineer visited to fix our TV (four hours later than he was supposed to turn up), and he was the second in four days. We had no internet at all over the weekend, and the polite but useless call centre person told me that Virgin had given themselves a deadline of 3 November to fix it (this was on Halloween).

If there was any alternative that didn't involve a dish, we would be taking it up.
