Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Vet with complimentary leaning?
Hi all,
I'm new here, not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but here goes!
We have just adopted a cat and want to register him at a vet, does anyone know of any that have a leaning towards complimentary treatment? Or at least accepting of them?! Not really sure where to start..
We are actually outside Harringay, nearer Bruce Grove, but any advice would be good.

Complimentary like alternative medicine? If so, why not stick with treatments that have actual evidence to back them up, rather than giving money to snake-oil merchants?

I'm guessing it's actually complementary (with an "e" as in complementary "medicine")
However it could be complimentary (with an "i") as in "my, my you are looking cute today - what a glossy coat you have and your mighty fine whiskers really set off your wet nose!..."
maybe that's it ...because that makes more sense to me.

Village Vet are a great vets and I've used them for years. I don't know about complimentary treatment but I note from their website that they have some vets who have acupuncture expertise www.villagevet.co.uk

i took my cat to a homeopathic vet in potters bar area called richard alsop- my own vet told me it was a waste of time, and my cat dies anyway but made me feel better
- but as most animals(like humans/get over mild illness without any treatment, then giving them something complementary will probably do less harm other than traditional medecine given by vets

Sorry if I came across as rude, I am just concerned with the welfare of animals and hope that people give them treatment that works, rather than the benign 'treatments' that some people think are better than actual medicine.

Complementary medicine DOES work on animals and humans alike, and can be better and gentler on the body as a whole. I feel the same as Nia and TC about certain types, it's complete bo***cks and does not work, but other things do, and to dismiss it all as rubbish is a little ignorant. Good luck with your search Emily, unfortunately I can't help you, but you may want to call around a few practices and see if they do referrals or have any recommendations.
